Peter Wrigglesworth wins Senior Championship
A packed field saw Peter Wrigglesworth from Forest Park win the York Union Seniors Championships. It was a very tight contest with 5 competitors all finishing on 42 points ! Peter triumphed with an incredible back 9 of 25 points - awesome golf. Mark Whittaker from Fulford Golf Club claimed the Reed Trophy (for under 65's) with Ian Dodsworth (Heworth) taking home the Pick Trophy (over 65's). Both players also scored 42 points, with honourable mentions to both Nicholas Duffield (Easingwold) and Peter McCallum (York) - who also scored 42. Prizes were awarded to the next best 4 players in each division by handicap (13 and below, 14 and above). Completing the prizes - Iain Angus (Forest Park) had a great score of 73 to win the lowest gross with 73, with birdies on three of the 4 par 5's. It was fantastic to get such a good turnout and huge thanks to Sandburn Hall for hosting a great day !
