Exciting updates to York Union summer schedule !
York Union are very excited to announce two changes to the summer schedule. We are introducing the York Union Summer Golf Championships, to be played at Forest Park Golf Club on Sunday 29th June. There will be three competitions on the day - best gross (Thompson Trophy) best net low handicap 0-12.4 (Crossley Trophy) and best net 12.4 - 26.4 (Fletcher trophy). This competition fits perfectly into the schedule with Championships already in place for Ladies, Seniors, Juniors alongside the Open and the Amateur (for the best golfers in the Union), we now have an event for all male golfers scratch and below to 26.4 handicap with 3 main prizes.
Following discussion with the Junior organisers we are also moving the Seward Trophy for Juniors to encourage more entrants and open the event to a wider field of Juniors. It will played for as part of the 36 hole Junior championship - this year being held at Malton & Norton on Wednesday August 13th. Juniors will be able to enter the Seward Trophy only (just playing 18 holes). More details will be available nearer the time.
