Oaks B triumph in Junior Club Championships
We had a great day today at Fulford under glorious golfing conditions to stage the first junior event of the season. We had a field of 30 players from across the union yielding 10 teams who fought hard over the testing Fulford course which was in superb condition.
As the teams returned their scores the lead changed regularly but in the end the Oaks B team triumphed with a magnificent 72 points from the sibling pairing of Aston and Darcey Kidd. The York A team of Murphy Riddell and Ewan Schofield came a narrow second with 69 points whilst the Oaks A team finished third with 66 points.
Congratulations to Ewan Schofield who recorded the best individual score of 42 points.
Manks thanks to the large number of parents and Junior Organsiers who attended in numbers to support their teams. A special thank you to Steve Wood the new YU president who engaged with many of the teams out on the course today and Mike Ward who ensured the figures all added up and made sense in the end.
A final thanks to Fulford who were excellent hosts with Pat experting starting everyone off and JP for ensuring all scores were correctly recorded.
